Looking for Ferries who have connections in their tree with Campsie/Lennoxtown, Kirkintilloch or Torrance. Early/Mid 1800's onwards. Still loads of Ferrie's in the area, but I'm told some of the more adventureous ones went to the US and Australia round about the 1900-1930 mark. Common names were James, George, Joseph, John, William for the lads and Mary, Margaret, Catherine, Annie, Sarah for the lassies. If any of this sounds like a possible link to your tree, give me a shout! My Granny is a Ferrie, and would love to know more about what happened to the offspring of her aunts and Uncles, as her Dad was the youngest of (rumour has it) 14. Love to hear from anyone who can shed some light on the Ferrie picture. Cheers Deborah |
