Trying to find Fitting

I am trying to find out more about the origins of my great great grandmother Maria's surname of Fitting. This was her maiden name. I have reason to believe that this surname does not originate in Britain but comes from either the pre first world war Austro Hungarian Empire or Germany. I have no more details of her place of birth. Her son married in London and his family surname was Batchelor due to Maria's marriage to his father. I would really appreciate any help with finding out more about the country of origin and subsequent nationality of my great great grandmother and my only clue is the Fitting surname. I think that she was born around 1855-1860. Also her husband was probably of Irish ancestry. Can anybody help? Thanks Fiona
