My name is Neil Garner and I know my family tree on the Garner side (what's the male equivalent of distaff?) only as far back as my grandfather. He was born John Garner in London, probably Woolwich, in 1879 but his father died when he (my grandfather) was only about 3. His mother re-married a BLAND and had about 5 other children. My GF retained the name Garner, which would have been unusual in the circumstances. I'd be v.interested in finding out about my GGF Garner, who would have died c.1882. I suspect general location would be London SE. No descendents of my GF Garner, all of whom I know, have any information. I realise this is all a bit vague, but any potential leads would be appreciated. Greetings to all Garners out there - we may be connected. Neil |
