Agnes Gascoigne, born approx 1888 in Retford, Nottinghamshire. Hi, I am looking for any further relations to the above lady. She married Herbert Robinson and had 4 children, Herbert, Kenneth, Edna and Douglas. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks Clare

Hi Clare,

I believe that an Agnes (known as 'Aggie' )Gascoigne was living in South Normanton (Notts) at the turn of the century. She married a man called Hancock (I think!) and I believe that they may have had one daughter together.

This is sketchy info gathered from my father's distant memories that I have not checked out as yet.

He remembers Aggie having 3 brothers ..Steve, Jack and Sam...(Steven? and Samuel?). Sam did not marry he lived with his parents in South Normanton. He was a dustman, a great bloke and he enjoyed racing greyhounds. Steve married Lyd (Lydia?) and it is unknown whether they had children.

Jack is my paternal grandfather and I know quite a lot about him! Hope this helps (if indeed it is the same Agnes Gascoigne, then she is my great aunt!)

Regards

Sue (nee Gascoigne)
