My gggrandma was called susan gates and married James Virgo in dec 1876. they later lived in portslade and then in woodmancote near henfield. thier children were Lilian (my ggrandma) b.1886, Alice b.1885, Annie b.1879, Beatrice b.1880, Charlie b.1895, and herbert b.1883. any info much appriciated, corrina

	Hi Corrina I have a very large family of Gates, most of them born in and around the Ninfield/Hastings area of East Sussex. One part of the family married a Colgate, do you think there could be a slight chance of a tie up at all. I can open my tree for you to have a look if you are interested. Best wishes Eric
