Hi, I'm just starting out on my family tree. I'm trying to locate any info with regard to my paternal grandmother, Rosetta (Rose) Gillingham (maiden name). We think she married a Blake (the story goes it was one of the Blake from Blake's holidays) and then owned/ran a large pub in the Stoke Newington area of London. She had 3 daughters- Dorothy (Dolly), Marie, Irene (Renee). Her brother, I think, was Lou Gillingham. She then later married Arthur Edward Hardy and had several children with him - Arthur, William (Bill), Stanley, Sylvia, Paul. My dad Stanley was born in Stoke Newington (1939), but they moved to Aston Clinton/Buckland in Bucks at some point after my dad was born. have now found her thanks to Eve Gillingham. Any help appreciated Helen Broadbridge (nee Hardy) |
