GRANT - INVERNESS VERY LONG SHOT THIS! AM TRYING TO FIND THE DAUGHTER OF ALEXANDER (NICKNAME "ELL") GRANT. ELL DIED IN THE 1940s I THINK - HIS WIFE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A MACKENZIE. ALL I KNOW ABOUT HIS DAUGHTER IS THAT SHE WAS A BEAUTY QUEEN IN INVERNESS IN THE 1940s OR 1950s. ALEXANDER (ELL) SPENT SOME TIME IN PERU AFTER THE FIRST WORLD WAR AND WAS AN INVALID FOR MANY YEARS BEFORE HE DIED. HE WAS IN HOSPITAL IN EDINBURGH AND LATTERLY AT HILTON HOSPITAL INVERNESS. ELL GRANT WAS MY GRANDFATHER'S BROTHER. THEIR MOTHER WAS ANNIE FINLAYSON (NEE GRANT) THE THREE BROTHERS WERE ROBERT (MY GRANDFATHER) JAMES JOHN WHO DIED IN PERU AND ELL. THEY HAD AN ADOPTED BROTHER CALLED WILLIAM STUART SMITH. WOULD BE DELIGHTED IF ANYONE CAN MAKE A CONNECTION. THANKS FIONA |
