Trying to find Halliday

Paul Report 30 Oct 2004 21:07

My Grandfather was Claude Joseph Halliday who moved from Lowestoft to Ratley in Warwickshire in the early 1900s. Not much is known about his history and family and I am trying to find anyone with a Claude Halliday that may have gone missing from their families history about this time. His father was Edward Halliday a bootmaker. I do not have much to go on but would be very pleased if anyone can help. Since writing this I have had a huge amount of information from Paul Halliday. It would now seem that Claude Josephs father Edward was a bootmaker from Northampton who was married to Sarah E who possibly had children Olive, Iris, Vincent as well as Claude, all born late 1800s early 1900s. Vincent it would appear did not die untill 1977. Again if anyone has any information I would be very grateful. It would appear that Claude Halliday actually came from Northampton not Felixstowe, with possible links to London. The name also seems to have changed at my mothers generation. Before this the family name was Holliday.
