There are numerous Hardakers in the Bradford West Yorks area. They even have a large family graveyard in Eccleshill Bradford. The Land was given to Bradford so that the Hardakers had somewhere to bury their relatives.(By a Hardaker) The families in recent times have been Mill owners Weavers Mechanical Manufacturing Engineers many generations in the same town or villages. Two Bradford Cemetries where many can be found are Norman Lane Cemetery Eccleshill and Undercliffe Cemetery. Bradford Library is worth a visit as there are hundreds if not thousands of other references to Hardakers of Bradford. I hope this helps and rather than too little information maybe like me you will find too much. My granfather was Percy Hardaker and he was a Police Constable and yes there are other policemen in the family too. His parents were William And Caroline. Happy Searching [email protected] |
