I am looking for any one who thinks they have any connection to my great grandmother who was Thomas Hardys(the famous poet). Niece. Her Name is Winifred or Winnifrith, Hardy, also known as Winnie. She was born around the late 1890s - 1900s. She Married Walter Foot and they had 5 children. I would also be interested in anyone who is also related to Thomas Hardy themselves.

Hi Sharon,
Well despite my name I have no connection to Thomas Hardy OM altho my family originate from Dorset. However a few years ago I was corresponding with a lady who is a recognised authority on the author and his family tree,Brenda Tunks. She is also the author of a book entitled "Whatever happened to the other Hardys?". Her research inevitably broadened to encompass a general Hardy database for Dorset as we may truly claim Clan status for that county. The last address I have for her is 21, Scarf Road, Poole, Dorset.BH17. Good luck.
