My gt grandad Benjamin WAKEFIELD married Harriet HARRIS in 1851. Her father was Samuel HARRIS, a confectioner in Birmingham. There were no children of this marriage but in the 1871 and 81 censuses they have living with them Harriet's nieces, Mary E HARRIS and Charlotte HARRIS. Mary E HARRIS and her sister were born in Sydney Australia in 1859 and 1862, to parents Samuel Henry HARRIS, born Gloucester, 1835 and Mary HARRIS (nee NASH) born in Bristol in 1835. Mary married a Charles E JONES, 34, born Tettenhall, Staffs, a Commercial Clerk, their daughter Elsie Mabel JONES, born 1890 in Wolverhampton was my grandmother. I know that there was a connection with the HARRIS family of Westcotes House in Leicester but am trying to establish just what this was. Does anyone have any connection with these HARRISes, JONESes and WAKEFIELDs? Penny Wakefield
