Looking for information on a ROBERT HEAD, born c.1835(?) He is recorded as having been a Soldier on his son John's marriage certificate (marriage in 1898, and Robert was already dead by then). His son John was born in India, and so ROBERT probably served out there while he was in the Army. There is a possibility that he was born in Devon, but this is just a family tradition, not a fact yet. Does anyone have any information about him? Also, any tips or hints about how to find out which regiment etc he served in, since that would no doubt give me a wealth of information too... |
