I 'm looking for my nan Her name was May Lena or Helena Henson. All the info I have is from my Dads memory so some of it may not be true. As far as I konw she was born in London Old Kent road area, I have a birth certificate for her and my Grandad but can find no marriage certificate to verify that they are correct. she was married twice to my knowledge firstly to a Mr. Lark in St. Olave Bermondsey he died then She lived in Abbey Lane Stratford East London where my Dad was born her and my Grandad had 3 sons while they were living there from 1927 on wards my Dads name is Frederick William Hewitt the same as his Dads. I n 1937 my nan left the family and was never heard of again. Her sons Frederick, Herbert, and William were put into a childrens home called Aldersbrooke in Wanstead. The info for my grandad is he was a brick layer by trade he served in the royal engineers in the 1ww and the boer war. Can anyone help because I cannot obtail a marriage certificate my search of quite afew years has come to a stand still. |
