Sorry. I obvioulsy should have made myself clearer!!!!!. I was asking if anybody knew of a Diana Jackson who married a George Griggs, lived in Colchester around 40 odd years ago and had three sons, names as above. I realise there is not a lot to go on and a shot in the dark, but one must start at some point, surely? Many thanks. Karen

Still a bit too vague for anyone to look unfortunately. When she was living in Colchester around 40 years ago was she already married to Mr Griggs? Were the children born already? In other words we need to try and work out some kind of approximate age for her. Local libraries would have the electoral rolls for the period and most will do a look-up for a fee if you give them something to go on. This would give you people of voting age in the family at the time.

Many thanks. Yes it is vague I know. But both she and my husbands father, her first husband are dead and my husband has no contact with his brothers. what makes it more confusing is that her maden name is down as Jackson on my husbands birth cert, but her parents were Starling?. and are now both dead.I do know their names were Bob and Marge. After divorcing my husbands fatehr she remarried and had three more children, two being twins and moved to Leicester and later moved to Spain. Not a lot to go on, but my husband only saw her a couple of times later. As I said a shot in the dark, but thanks anyway.

You probably need to work backwards from death certificate then. She would be roughly the same age as your husband's father, probably, so you could work out a rough time frame for her birth. Bit confused as to why his grandparents (her parents?) Starling would be on his birth certificate though. Are you sure about that? What year was he born - I'll have a play around later - just in case!

The name difference is a bit odd, I know. But my husband is sure her parents name was Starling, and we do have some info that points to this. And her maden name on my husbands cert is Jackson. My husband was born in 1962, Colchester. As for his father. He was George Henry john Griggs and was born in 1936. we have ordered a birth cert for him. He died in 1976. So I assume Diane was a few years younger than him as she went on to have further children. from memory from being told by one of my husbands brothers after Diane died I would guesse year was around 1997/8. But not even sure if she died in Uk or Spain. It gets worse. we have only just started on my husbands family so still in the dark. Once again many thanks.
