Hi Carole,

My name's Chris Jewsbury and Thomas was my great great uncle. His wife's maiden name was Oakes and Thomas was the son of William (born 1867) and Maria (nee Green). Thomas was the brother of Samuel who was my grandfather Raymond's father. My father Trevor was born in 1947 and if you are related to Alan Jewsbury his daughter works (or used to work) with Trevor. When she saw that his surname was Jewsbury she asked him some questions and worked out how they were related (small world isn't it). I have only just started work on my family tree but have managed to get back to 1769. I have e mailed a couple of people who I have noticed have a number of matches with me. The Jewsbury's that I am related to all originated in Measham, which was then in Derbyshire but is now in Lecestershire not far from Ashby-De-La-Zouch. Apparently we are distantly related to the famous Jewsbury sisters (the authors) but I have yet to find how.

If you would like any more info please let me know.

Regards

Chris
