I believe John Parker was my grandfather. Gran was not married to him and she put the name of her dead husband on my father's birth certificate. The only Parker I could find who fitted in with what I know of him was a man who died on 19/2/1915 at the Workhouse Infirmary, Western Road, Birmingham. On his death certificate, occupation was Labourer of 11 Harborne Terrace, Stour Street, Birmingham (Ladywood). He died of pancreatic cancer. When people died in the Workhouse the death certificates contained no details of the person's family. Gran had two children by this man, David b.1912 and Cissie b.1915 three months after John Parker died. I have always been told that he had another family somewhere, which means that I have relatives that I have no conception of and I would like to get to know them. Please contact me if you believe you may be a descendant of this man. Gran's name was Mary Sanders nee Matthews. I asked my aunts about him and they had nothing to say except that he was a very good man.

David had two daughters and five grandsons, and Cissie had four children and several grandchildren. It is likely that John Parker's legal descendants had no idea of the existence of the other two children that he fathered.
