My relative is John Townley, born c. 1799. Father to Thomas Townley, born 1837 at Caton. John married Mary Thompson first, then may have married a Margaret Clay in 1864, but there is another John Townley, born 1797 whose parents were Henry and Maria Dodding, and it is not clear which one married Margaret Clay. There were three children of this marriage, a daughter and twins. My mother was Marjorie Speidel, daughter of Jenny Townley of this line. Need to find a birth registration for J.T. 1799.
