Hi all the Jones's I'm trying to find a FREDERICK JOSIAH JONES born 1889/90 in the PONTYPOOL WORKHOUSE - unmarried mother FLORENCE JONES aged 21 yrs on 1891 census in workhouse. Frederick Josiah JONES married Mary Jane RIGBY in 1915 at the parish church Birkenhead. The had a son in 1916, ALBERT (my father) and divorced before 1930. FREDERICK JOSIAH JONES was a private in the ROYAL WELCH FUSILIERS at the time of marriage and my father's birth. Frederick also stated on his marriage cert. that his father was Walter Jones (deceased - Farmer). He was believed to come from Pontypool, and the only FREDERICK JOSIAH JONES I can find for the time of his birth was as above in the Pontypool Workhouse. It has been mentioned in my family, that Fred J 's family came from BLACKWOOD, which is close to Pontypool. I was on a wild goose chase around Birkenhead, because he married there, but now ultimately am back in South Wales. PLEASE DOES ANYONE RECOGNIZE THIS ELUSIVE FREDERICK JOSIAH JONES. I would be most grateful, and I'm beginning to get a few bald patches on my head, because I keep pulling my hair out over this one!!!!! Thanks Margaret |
