Trying to establish parents of Elizabeth Hannah Jowett, b1867, who was brought up by her grandparents John and Sarah (nee Dean) Jowett in Southowram, nr Halifax. 1871 census shows her with John and Sarah, their daughter Eliza and son Fred, also Fred's wife Marian and daughter Mary Ann: 'person page' shows Fred and Marian as parents. BUT a note in family bible says Elizabeth was born 'out of wedlock' to Eliza. Elizabeth stayed with her grandparents until her marriage to Mark Rushworth sometime after 1891. Can anybody clear this up for me? Info on parents of John Jowett, b 1815 in Halifax also appreciated. |
