Hi, our family name is Lambert - Bateman. My grandfather James was the son of Thomas Lambert-Bateman. Father of Thomas was also James and his mother was Martha (formerly Waggitt) formerly Bateman. Thomas was born to James and Martha whilst Martha was still married to Mr Bateman - hence the Lambert-Bateman. Anyone out there know of any connections ?? Martha also had a daughter Jane to Thomas Bateman, and she moved with her from Leeds into Hunslet where the Lambert-Bateman family continued to live until James and wife decided to settle in Gateshead.
