Trying to find family with name of Mabbs

Fortunately there aren't many with this surname which makes it easier to track.

I notice a lady named Judy has most of my relatives in her tree but hasn't posted on the site for 2 1/2 years. I have e-mailed and another person called Brian, but no replies as yet.

As we have so few relatives left, we thought it would be nice to find some!

Does anyone know why there was no 1881 Census?

If you go to search trees on Ancestry there are Mabbs back to 1500
I'm not sure what you mean about the 1881 census its there all right.

Thank you for replying Lindsey. I will have a look for Ancestry in a moment. I presume it is on this site?

The 1881 Census does not show on my list and I therefore cannot search it. I have tried typing 1881 in, but it just takes me back to the same screen and won't bring it up. I wondered if one wasn't taken because of war, or the data was lost. Perhaps I need to contact GR about this anomaly.

Thanks again, Dawn
