i AM TRYING to find the MACBETH family with whom i stayed as a 3/4 yr old during WW11. Along with my grandmother, Margaret Matilda Thorlnley, also known as "maggie crank" and we came up from Bolton in Lancashire. The father c1882 was a large man (whose christian name i do not know) who had been (so i am told) in the Black Watch. During WW11, he was retired but was Bandmaster, and used to go out every Sunday to lead the pipe and drum band of the reserve (home Guard). His daughter, Carrie c1914 ?, was, so i am told, a house maid at the castle in Edinburgh and at Balmoral when the king and queen were in residence. any info showing a connection to the Casement or Thornley families of lancashire would be most welcome. Regards, Jim Ramsbottom
