Trying to find out about my great grandfather Edward Macnamara he was born in 1841 i dont know where but he imirgrated to the south island of New Zealand. he was a whaler. He married Maekere
Miller born 1842 her father was Jason Miller born around 1825 he was negro. Edward and Maekere had a daughter Hannah Helen born 1893.

Can you get a copy of his death certificate?
Or his marriage certificate?
They might tell you where he was from.
