MANNERS family of Long Newton, Crathorne, Yorkshire. John Manners married Susannah Hill 1868 in Stokesley,Yorks. He was a Weaver by trade. Birthplace/d.o.b. unknown probably 1740's. He had three known children - William, christened Stokesly 16/7/1769, (my ancestor), John c 18/4/1772 Stokesley, Esther c 15/1/1775 Stokesley - possibly by 2nd marriage. William married 1793 Mary Lindsley (born Hornsby). Children were John,1793, Robert 1795,Esther 1797, Susannah 1800, William 1803 (was Mayor of Hartlepool 1845),James Linsley 1805, George 1807. Have much data on these and their descendants - occupations were as shoemaker, publicans, cabinet makers, descendants of some moved USA, Germany, Bishop Auckland, Middlesbrough, Stockton. one William Manners married his cousin Mary Ann Manners and lived Leeds then London, had child Islington lived Healey Street ,London, 1881 census whilst working in Brewery as Clerk. Can anyone relate to this Manners family or shred light on first John Manners born about 1740's possibly Yorkshire.
