Trying to find information about my great grandmother Ethel Markwald who had my grandmother Bettini McCausland in Albany Western Australia on 12th April 1903. She states she came from the uk and that she was married to Harold Markwald on Nov 1 1900 in Mixendon Yorkshire. No record of this marriage exists and my father said that it was always assumed she had never been married and that she moved to Melbourne Australia when Bettini was still a baby. On Bettini's marriage cert she states her name as Ethel de Remedious, however Bettini's birth certificate says her maiden name was Parker. She worked as a nurse in Mebourne.
I can't find any details of her arrival in Aust and have no idea about Harold. It appears she has gone to some lengths to cover her tracks!! Is there anyone out there with info that may be of any help. Sue McCausland

I can't see any Harold Markwald's but there is this death in Victoria:

Age: 89
Year: 1963
Reg Number: 6919
Event: D

Makes her born c1874.
Not much help without parents names I guess...you could only hope the cert states extra info such as spouse, children etc.
