I am trying to find out any information i can on my great grandfather James McCandless. He was born in the north of ireland around 1898 and moved to scotland where he married annie mackay from, bettyhill, caithness. they had four children - dougal, harry, ester and magdeline. james tryed to join the army at the out break of the great warbut was too young so to get in so he changed his name to McCandlish and altered his age. after the war he died of mustard gas burns around 1948. if anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
