JAMES McCARTNEY - is my g. grandfather. I think he came originally from Belfast or near it, in Northern Ireland. He was married to Sarah Orr and had children: Violet, James Jnr, George, Irvine Thomas, George, and David. Unfortunately Sarah died leaving James to look after the family. He moved them to Port Glasgow, near Glasgow where he died in 1950, aged 59. Can anyone help with more information about any of this family? Violet McCartney was my grandmother and married Robert Millen from Port Glasgow. She lived in the town until her death in 1980. Many thanks - Lynn Ceney |
