All I know is that James and Mary (nee Wood) my gt grandparent
gave birth to a boy called George Alma in 1874 Mary may have died as George was adopted later that year. I would be greatfull of any information to start up the trail.--

Hi Patricia.
George Alma Mcgowan born Jan/March Qtr.1874 reg in Bradford. Yorks. vol 9b 143

Same Quarter.
Death of Mary Ann McGowan aged 22.
1874. Bradford. vol 9b 76.
Jan/March Qtr.

It would appear that she died at the birth of her son but you would need a copy of the death certificate and the birth of her son to confirm this. Hope it helps. Ethel.

Thank you Ethel you have confirmed what I thought. If
I could find thier marrage details I can then determine James's age which should help me find him, so upwards and onwards. regards Pat
