Hi
My great grandmother's name was Caroline Rachael Mitchell. She was born in 1884 in the portsmouth area. Her father is listed as Mark who was in the Royal Navy on her Marraige certificate in 1906. I have been unable to find her on any of the census's. My mothers cousin seems to remember being told that Caroline and several siblings were placed in care in Potsmouth when their mother died while they were children as their father was away all the time in the navy.
Caroline later moved the Isle of wight and married.
Do you think there could be a connection here? Please email and let me know if you think there is as I have hit a brick wall!! I would love to find out more about Caroline and her ancestors.
My email is [email protected] and I look forward to hearing from you even if its just to say wrong person.

Hi

Re: Mitchell

Have been looking for a connection to my Grandfather who I belived was called Herbert, BUT after sending for their marriage cert; his name was Mitchell (thomas) b. 1827, Father was William a domestic gardener. I know that my mother and some of the siblings were born in Portsmouth, but have no idea where Thomas or his family came from.
Regards
