Thanks to Ethel for finding my Great Grandfather, Alfred Moody. Now I have found out he had a son (my gran's brother) which we know very little about. His name was Alfred Dukes Moody, born 1886 at St. Edith Bromham in Wiltshire. The family moved to Thornton Heath, Croydon around 1900. I know through family that he died on 16 August 1929 aged 43. Does anyone know of him or any family he had of his own? He was a gardener like my Great Grandfather. We think he specialised in orchids. The 1901 census tells me he worked as a gardener in the Croydon area and was aged 14. |
