Hi I and others have been trying without success to find the origin of my Gt Great Grandfather Matthew Crantson. We know he was born c 1827 and travelled to NE England before marrying into a Keelman family. From his marriage certificate we know his father was Walter Cranston a potter. We have foubd several Scottih cenuses and found his brother and sister s death certificate which state the mother was Mary Cartwright. All of Walter s children say they were boen in Fife Scotland but Walter says on every census that the family were born in Ireland. I was wondering if these could be connected to your family . Both Walter and Mary born c 1795 . Thanks Yvonne |
