John O'Brien born c1838 in Ireland. Son of James O'Brien and probably Ellen Casey. Married 1. Martha Jane ???? about 1857 in Liverpool and had two sons Thoms, known as Tommy born October 1858 and John who was born in 1863. Martha Jane died before 1866. John O'Brien as a widower then married Mary Gibbons. At the time of their marriage in 1866 he was living in Ben Johnson St They had the following children Charles 1867 Mary Ellen 1869 Daniel 1870 and Patrick 1871 The last three ended up in Detroit with their grandmother Catherine(neee Quinn) Gibbons and various other Gibbons rellies. Did any of them marry? Would like to know. As at 1896 they were all still single. Mary Gibbons O'Brien died in Dec 1888. Did John O'Brien still only 50 himself marry yet again? I am descended from Charles O'Brien who migrated to New Zealand. Jill NZ |
