My name is Shirley Paul and I am trying to find any information about my father-in-law Albert [also known as Bert or Herbert] who was born in Wiltshire, England on the 1st March 1886. I have a photo of a house he and his 11 siblings were raised in Katifer Lane, Malmesbury, England. As far as we know he had 9 brothers and one sister, whom I beleive was named Shirley. Bert was in the Royal Navy and then in the Australian Navy. He was in the Navy for approx. 35 years all told. Bert met and married Florence Corney born in Huntingdonshire, England on the 21st October 1896. They were married in Sydney on the 21st April 1923 and have three sons. George 80 in December, who lives in Brisbane,Queensland, Australia. Gordon [ my husband] 72, we live in Gladstone Queensland, Australia. and John 66 who lives in Ayr, North Queensland. Australia. Bert passed away in 1965 and Florence in 1986 both in Brisbane, Queensland. Australia. Any information would be greatly appreciated. |
