Member Since: September 2004 Posts: 4 Send Message	Phipps, from Philip,(Greek) Lover of horses. First mentioned in England about 1215. Phip 1P or 2 ? was a Norman knight who fought for Bill the Conk. He was given a load of land in Wilts. & Herts because his boss Bill thought he was a well hard geezer. The S in Phipps means PHIPP (Son of).
