Trying to find Richmond

Hi, Can anyone give me any tips on finding a family member that I am struggling to trace?. His name was Joseph Richmond he was born in 1844 in Doncaster and married in Cheshire in 1865 to a Sarah Thomason, he had two children Frederick in 1866 and Annie in 1869. After this my trace goes cold and his children moved back to his parents house in Doncaster according to the 1871 census, and no mention of Joseph or Sarah. My thoughts are that they seperated or he died, but searching through the 1871. 1881, and 1901 census, plus free bmd no results have been successful in their names. Is it possible they left the country?, and if so does anyone know of any good sites to search worldwide? |
