An ANN RIDLEY (daughter of John Ridely, gamewatcher and Mary Makepeace) seems to have married JOHN HEWITSON sometime around 1850 - 1857 in the Haltwhistle area (Kellah) Northumberland. She appears on her children's birth certificates as Ann Hewitson (formerly Ridley) and when she remarries John's cousin, William Hewitson, in 1875 she is described as widow, but I can find no record of Ann and John's marriage. Have you found it? |

I do not have any information on the individuals mentioned above, but I have been doing research on a Joseph Albert Ridley who was born in Nine Banks, Allendale, Northummberland. I suggest you visit, if you have not already, the 1881 census at www.familysearch.com (free) which has a surprising number of Ridleys from the Allendale and Haltwhistle region. |
