Hello Rudlins I have been researching the RUDLIN name for 5 years and its variants RUDLAND and RUDLING. I understand the name to derive from the term 'dwellers of marshes'. I have found that the name is prevalent in Suffolk, Essex, London, Norfolk so this may account for the name. I have also discovered that the spelling will differ depending upon the accent. My database has over 2000 entries. For more information please contact me rudlin@one-name.org Regards Imogen |
