as far as I am aware there are several branches of this family with ancestors in suffolk, leistershire and kent. the current rushbrooks in the kent area originate from the Erith Area. There were two brothers both living in brook street ( at opposite ends ) I know at least one of them was a builder. John ( thomas?) had about eight offspring, one of which was my father, Victor Roy, Born in 1908. (died 1978) None of his siblings are still living. There is a place in suffolk called Rushbrook and, I'm assured by my brother, If you can prove you ancestry in the 'Rushbrook Arms' public house, You will be rewarded with a free pint. (haven't tried it myself, yet so if you do, please let me know how you get on!) |
