Trying to find Sanders

Trying to find anything about William SANDERS born 1827/8, possibly in Middx, who in 1841 was a pupil at College House, Edmonton. My family have inherited an elaborate portfolio of 'Specimens of Penmanship' and drawings by William Sanders dated Xmas 1841 from College House, Edmonton. We have found him, age 13 at College House, a boarding school in Edmonton in the 1841 census, but we have no other record of him whatsoever, and so we cannot work out how he is related. The portfolio came to us from Evelyn Elizabeth SANDERS who was born 31 Jul 1861 in Lambeth, daughter of James SANDERS [bn 1833 Ryde, Isle of Wight] and Frances Lavinia Baker. Evelyn was a spinster schoolteacher who died in 1954 having previously passed on the portfolio to her nearest surviving Sanders relation. Samples from the portfolio and much more detail at: http://www.vino.demon(.)co.uk/set/sandersproblem.html (remove the parentheses). Any thoughts appreciated. Onwards and backwards - Stephen |
