Member Since: October 2004 Posts: 4 Send Message	I am trying to find relations of Henry Smedley. He was my grandfather. His mother was called Mary A Smedley and his father Charles. He was born on the 5 or 6 April 1880 the youngest of 5 children. He had brothers William and Charles and sisters Elizabeth and Mary A. I think he was born around Derby/Chesterfield area. I know he worked as a deputy at Markham Main colliery and then he was a shopkeeper in Duckmanton in Chesterfield in the 1920/1930s. He married Georgina Stanford. They had 4 daughters, Evelyn, Marjorie, Laura and Gladys. Gladys was my mother and I know that she was christened at the Crooked Spire in Chesterfield and I think the other 3 were also. They moved to Cudworth near Barnsley and had a fish and chip shop and then to Lundwood near Barnsley and had a newsagent shop. Henry Smedley's birth day was either 5 or 6 April and I think he was born around 1880. Anyone able to help, either with Henry or Georgina.
