Hi there ALL, I would be grateful for anyone who knows or are connected to Smith in the Barnoldswick then latterly in the Bolton area. My Father's (dob 1914) father was from Barnoldswick he was a cattle dealer and travelled to Bolton were he met my father's mother Mary Rutter, Rutter being my father's middle name.I think there was a step sister Alice and step brother David. There were also relatives in Ingleton and Kirby Lonsdale areas. That's all I know. Also does anybody know of a Reginald Howard Rutter dob 1881 left England about 1915 for USA or Australia, worked on the railway before leaving UK. Mother was Sarah Reeves Rutter dob 1847 in Bucklebury Berkshire England and Father William H Rutter 1838 book keeper in a cotton mill in Manchester England sister was Mary Rutter later Smith died in Bolton 1915 after giving birth to my Father. Thanks in advance. ( I cannot spell anticipation). Reg Smith.JNR
