I'm surprised that there are 18 Snyders on here. My great grandfather was Dutch and his name in Holland was Snjeeders but he came to England to work at Edinburgh University as a Professor of Languages, met my great grandmother and they married. My grandfather was born in Scotland. When he married his name was translated into Snyders - the English version of the name. This was kept up but the name here died as he had daughters and so the line has ended.
