I'm trying to locate relatives of Francis Sowter. He was born around 1810 at Dockhead, London - he was transported to Tasmania aboard the Barque ' The William Glen Anderson '. She departed from Downs on the 18th of June 1831. His crime. Theft of 1 sack and 4 bushels of wheat, he was sentenced to 7 years transportation to Van Diemans Land, (Tasmania) His first offense - he served 10 years in total, causes, gross disobedience and neglect of duty on work details, absconding from service. His mother's name was Maria. He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters living in the Dockhead vacinity. Any of his direct blood relatives out there? Francis is my great, great, grandfather. Kind regards, Paul Sowter (Bangkok, Thailand)
