Hello Jack, I am researching mine and my husbands family trees, I was born in Aldershot in 1944 my father had left my mother before I was born. I was two weeks old and my mother left me with a neighbour to go `shopping` and six moths later wrote and said to get me adopted. She took my brother and sister to Middlesborough and left my brother in a childrens home and put him up for adoption. ( He was adopted and brought up in Redcar) My sister was then taken to Camden in London and was kept by my mother. My father in the meantime had an affair and had a daughter who now lives in the Isle of Wight. My Birth Ma & Pa then got divorced and My Birth father remarried he had a further five children, so I now have 1 full sister, 1 half brother (when my mother had an affair before I was born) 1 half sister on the IOW and 3 1/2 brother and 2 further 1/2 sisters. I am 61 and probably have you totallly confused now about my history. Anyway my husbands Grandmother was a Stamp her fathers name was Henry John Stamp born 1861 Pamber Heather, Basingstoke. Henry had six children in the next few weeks I am trying to go to Aldershot Library, I will keep John Robert Stamp`s name in my book and if I come up with anything I will let you know. Wishing you very good luck with your search. Have you tried to put your name on the missing you web site. I think its www.missingyou.co.uk or .com give it a try you never know. |
