Rita Report 23 Oct 2004 16:38

Rita Lane Could anyone offer ideas or assistance regarding 4 girls aged from 17 to 1 year old who on the 1881 Census were noted as boarders & living with a family in Kirkburton, Yorks. No trace of their births at PRO, no trace of mothers recent death in childbirth, the entry that they were born in Manchester seems doubtful. All remained in the area in later years. Fathers name given on a marriage cert was Henry Stephenson. Would they have been in care?
