Hi My name is Janet and I live in South Africa. I am trying to find any information about my gg grandfather Lt. Col. John Sutherland, born 1792 Duffus Scotland died 1848 Bharatphur India. His three sons lived in South Africa and most of my ancestors lived in the Eastern Cape. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I have been searching for different Sutherlands that went to Nova Scotia after the Clearance.
These families were founding families of this island. near NY.
I am writing to ask if you have searched the Nova Scotia Shipping records as there were ships that went on to other lands with sutherlands on board.
It is a free search.
