Born around 1825 who was a railwayman and moved to Leicester during either the 1870's or 1880's. Trying to find relatives of him as he was my 3 * great grandfather

His surname was Taylor and married an Eliza Wakely. ON his daughters birth certificate he was a railway policeman and on her wedding certificate a signalman. From what I can understand the early signalmen were policemen as well.

My maiden name was Taylor. From the 1881 census record I have a reference to a William Taylor my great grandfather, born at Great Easton in Leicestershire in 1852/3. He was living in 1881 in Wigston Magna and his occupation was described as Railway Goods Guard. Unfortunately I don't have any earlier information.
