Elizabeth Report 22 Oct 2004 17:24

In the old graveyard of the former Rechabite Chapel (now The Little Theatre) in Dover Street, Leicester, is the following headstone: "William Thirlby died 18 December 1846 aged 33 yrs by sickness long oppressed. Sarah-Ann daughter of William & Jane Thirlby died 24 January 1840 aged 9 weeks." Anyone interested in this family? There was a grocer in Cheapside, Leicester, of this name, who was fined in kind for not paying his church dues (he went to Chapel). We have quite a bit of information about the Leicestershire Thirlby's but can't fit this man into the puzzle. Lisa.
