MARY THOMPSON, b.1819 or 1821, Easton, Northhamptonshire. Married Samuel Cliffe @All Saints Anglican, Easton in 1848. Died presumably in 1874 in Poplar, London on way to migrate to Australia. Daughters Charlotte Hannah, Elizabeth Ann and son Harry migrated to Queensland after her death in 1875. Followed by father Samuel and son Owen Bryan in 1878. Any details to verify this information would be extremely helpful. WILLIAM THOMPSON b. 1784, her father- his birthplace is uncertain. Many Thanks, Greg Cliffe |

A lot of Thompsons went to Australia and New Zealand, Canada too at the same time and there are others who are seeking thompsons who resided in london for a while before emigrating. I think the coal mining got them down, as most of them were connected with Lord Dudley - reputed t be the richest man in the world in Victorian England and they went on strike a lot. Search this trying to fid because there are others. I am trying to find out if my husband has living relatives. |
