From the Westmorland Gazette website it looks like the microfilm does exist and the only copy is at Kendal Library.

If you are visiting Sedburgh, could you call in at the Library and see if there is a Funeral Notice for a George New ( b.1884) who died Jul-Sept. 1961. I think he was a doctor who lived with his sister in or near to Sedburgh. The notice will be in the Westmoreland Gazette Micofilms ( hopefully they exist).
